Our Story

Abryd was founded in 2017 by a group of three friends who wanted to change people’s lives with their passion, trekking and discovering the beauty and richness of Morocco’s landscapes.

It all began when we started organising treks with friends to discover the most remote areas of the country.

Our Mission

“Improving children’s lives one trek at a time”

Abryd organises treks throughout rural Morocco to help children get the right for a better education and living conditions in boarding houses and schools.

Our Approach

We are eager to learn from others. Most of our initiatives are designed in partnership with other charities and involve local authorities and communities from project conception to its implementation.

Our projects are carefully designed to ensure it has a positive impact on local communities

Rachid.

Rachid, avid trekker and nature lover, co-founded Abryd to help disadvantaged people get their right to education and live in decent conditions. It’s through treks in the Atlas mountains that he came across the hospitality and generosity of the people despite the fact that they were living in extreme poverty. This reinforced his willingness and drive to have a small, yet positive impact in the lives of people who need it most.
